چکیده

Abstract This essay presents the first critical overview of collection and display art objects acquired by Venetian nobleman Andrea di Nicolò Loredan (1450–1513). It focuses on decoration three key sites maintained clan: governor’s palace in Brescia, location contents which are here identified for time; Grand Canal Venice; funerary chapel church San Michele Isola lagoon. Examination Titian’s grandiose easel painting ‘Flight into Egypt’ (c.1507), recently discovered to have played a crucial role within palace, helps elucidate range material devotional agendas possessed Andrea. Critical reconstruction is achieved through fresh attention archival records, little-known panegyric (1504) Brescian friar Martino Codagnello.
